Families Waiting to Adopt
Sean and Emily

"Adoptive Placement!"

Dear Birthparents: Sean and Emily

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to look through our portfolio! We can’t imagine what a loving and difficult decision you have to make, but we are grateful that you are taking the time to do what is best for this new life that is about to come into the world. We have every confidence that God will find the perfect match of parent and child to create an incredible family. We hope that in reading about us, your heart will be put at ease knowing that our family is the perfect situation to raise a strong, loving, healthy child.

About Us

We met in high school, but didn’t fall in love until after college. After a short engagement, we were married in St. Joseph, Michigan, in July 2000, surrounded by our family and friends. We lived in the same area as both of our parents until 2002 when we relocated to Battle Creek, Michigan, where we purchased our first “family home.” In 2005, we were EXTREMELY blessed with our first child, Abigail. She has been a wonder and a joy to have as part of our family. We love watching her grow and discover new things.

Sean
Sean is a loving man with a strong interest in sports. When he isn’t working at the hospital as a pharmacist, you can guess he’s at home watching a ball game and playing with Abby. He is a very caring daddy that loves watching her personality and curiosity develop.

Emily
Emily is a caring woman with an active personality. She is currently a stay home mom, and also manages to teach math online from her home. She likes spending time with the local Stay-Home-Moms group, playing with Abby, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

Sean and EmilyAbigail
The newest addition to our family! Abby is an energetic toddler that is curious about everything. She is currently in a music class for young toddlers and LOVES dancing, singing and making different sounds with the instruments. Abby is a bright young girl who is fascinated with the cats and fish that we have as pets in the home. You can also be sure that she is always carrying around a book, asking you to read to her again and again!

Faith
Our faith in God is our basis for life. When things are wonderful or challenging, we give maintain a relationship with God on a daily basis. Our church home has given us a great circle of friends who are a great support and a lot of fun to spend time with. Many of them have young kids who make perfect playmates for Abby.

Family
Family is extremely important to us. When Sean was in high school, he was adopted by his stepfather, Tony. This changed his name, family size, and the diversity in his family. Not only does he have a close relationship with Tony, but Sean has recently reconnected with the biological father that he had lost touch with. Experiencing this reunion has showed us how important it is to maintain a connection with both biological and adoptive families.

Sean and Emily

Emily is very close to her family. Whether they are traveling, camping, playing games, or watching movies, it is always fun to spend time with her 2 brothers, her sister and all of their spouses and kids. Emily’s parents have been married for over 30 years and have set an incredible example of how to have a loving, stable home.

Now we have our own family! We are grateful for the opportunity to have Abigail in our lives. While there are always challenges in raising a baby, she has been an automatic part of our lives since the day she was born. Her birthmother was a wonderful part of the process and was always supportive of the plan for us to adopt Abby. We send her birthmother pictures and letters to let her know that Abby is cared for and growing well. We have also received a few cards from her birthmother thanking us for the opportunity we are giving to Abby.

Time together as a family
We love spending time together! We have traveled to see family around the country as well as to see the local attractions. Abby loves activities that allow her to move around and explore. We have taken her to baseball games, the zoo, the beach, playgrounds, church activities and countless activities with friends and their children.

Parenting

We have both grown up in loving homes that taught responsibility and respect for each other. Our primary goal is to continue what our parents instilled in us. We desire a family that will love God and encourage everyone’s different talents and abilities. We look forward to sharing whatever our children show an interest in—from sports to arts to academics. There are countless ways to excel and to explore their world. We believe in allowing them to discover their uniqueness and providing a safe environment to develop in.

Thank you
We both thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We can’t imagine the tough decision that you have to make. We have the highest respect for someone who is making this important choice. We pray that God will give you peace as you make your decision.
