Mill Steel Company’s
12th Annual Golf For Kids’ Sake
This year’s Golf For Kids’ Sake by Mill Steel Company was held at Bythefield Country Club on Monday, July 14. The golf outing served as a fundraiser for the Big Brothers Big Sister program of D.A. Blodgett for Children and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. We had 10 teams for the 8:00 AM morning flight and 30 teams for the 1:30 PM afternoon flight. The day was characterized by laughter, sunshine and a growing awareness of how the Big Brother Big Sister program serves the children in need in this community.
Featured at dinner were Big Brother Leroy Reed and his Little Brother Jaivante James, an Amachi match since March of 2007. Little Sister Jamica Tayler, recipient of the 2008 Harry H. Samrick Scholarship, and her Big Sister Marie Jennett also spoke at dinner.
Thank you Mill Steel Company, all the golfers who came out to support us, Bythefield Country Club and the staff and volunteers who helped make this year’s Golf For Kids’ Sake event a great success. A special thank you to Bob Tiesma who has helped coordinate Golf For Kids’ Sake on D.A. Blodgett for Children’s behalf for the past 15 years. Bob will be retiring in August so thank you for the many years of dedication and service!
