Community Based Mentoring

Community Based

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Community-Based program is the nationally recognized mentoring program that serves children from the ages of 5 to 17, mostly living in one parent families. These children may experience some difficulty in school, some inadequate social skills, and limited opportunity to develop their interests.

All Community Based volunteers must be at least 18 years old.  Volunteers spend an average of 1-3 hours a week with a child.  The ability to reach out and provide friendship is most important.  Currently, there are over 400 children waiting to be matched to a Big Brother or Big Sister volunteer.  Call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 451-2021 or visit our homepage at www.dablodgett.org to learn more.

There are currently over 400 children waiting for a BB or BS. Click Here for information on some of our waiting children.
