Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Grand Rapids
D. A. Blodgett started the Greater Grand Rapids Chapter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program in 1965 serving all of Kent County and the eastern region of Ottawa County. This successful evidenced based model program has provided adult mentors and role models for thousands of children experiencing problems and stress, the majority of whom lived in single-parent families.

At D.A. Blodgett for Children we recruit, assess, screen and train Big Brother and Big Sister applicants. Little Brother and Little Sister applicants, ages 5 to 15 and their families are screened as well. We use specific criteria to match approved Big Brothers/Sisters with waiting, assessed Little Brothers/Sisters with the goal of maintaining each match for at least one year.
Following are details on our mentoring opportunities.
