Ethan is a humorous and fun 7 year old boy looking for a Big Brother. Ethan is funny, clever, and curious about the world around him. He enjoys sports and video games and would like a Big Brother who also enjoys these activities. Ethan’s father passed away when he was an infant and his mother would like a nice, young man for him to share new experiences with. Ethan would like to be a football player when he grows up.

Keontay is a fun and caring 12 year old boy who would love to have a Big Brother. Keontay is polite, respectful, and he absolutely loves animals. He would like to help out at the pet sanctuary with a Big Brother. He enjoys riding bikes, playing video games, basketball, and soccer. Keontay’s mom is looking for a positive male role model for Keontay, with whom he can share new experiences with. Keontay feels that a Big Brother is someone who has your back and makes you laugh. When Keontay grows up he wants to be a veterinarian.

Marcus is a nine-year-old multi-ethnic boy who could benefit from a Big Brother. Marcus is creative, fun, loving, artistic, and enjoys basketball, skateboarding, fishing, and other sports. Marcus’ family would like to have a positive, patient, and caring male role model to spend time with Marcus and help to increase his self-esteem and confidence.

Introducing Janai |

Janai is a friendly, outgoing, young mother of a two year old daughter. Janai is 20 years old and lives in her own apartment. She has plans to return to college this fall. She is waiting to be matched to an adult female volunteer who can offer friendship and support, spend time together doing activities with her and her daughter, and encourage her in her role as a mother.

Looking For School-Based Mentors |
Burton Elementary & Middle, Harrison Park and Godfrey Elementary are looking for mentors to volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters School-Based Program once a week for 45 minutes to an hour. Mentors would be paired up with a child at the school and help them with homework, reading and others activities. We have 20 other school through the Kent County and Eastern Ottawa County areas that are also in need of school-based mentors.
