Brett and Lora
Brett and Lora
Dear Birth Family,
There are many words that come to our minds as we talk about adoption; excited, scared, and blessed. But, the one word that keeps coming up is courage. Courage by you to look to others to help you though this challenging time and courage by us to put our faith in the hand of others to help build our family. The courage you have shown by seeking guidance and direction and making the decision to allow someone the opportunity to love and raise your child is awe inspiring.
Brett and I met six years ago and have been looking forward to having a family from early on. Once we completed our education (Brett is an engineer and Lora is a nurse), we decided to test our courage and start the adoption process. We were each raised by loving parents, who are both still married, and have learned about life, love, commitment and honesty through them. We spend a lot of our free time with family and treasure the memories we are building with them.
Brett and I enjoy a simple life; spending time together, traveling, family weekends at the cottage up north, or just walking the dog in our close knit, family friendly North East Grand Rapids neighborhood. We are excited to share our love with a little one and continue to pray for your courage as we enter deeper in this relationship.
Brett and I are easygoing and quick to laugh. We spend our evenings relaxing and just enjoying each others company. Our dog, Ozzie, is also a great joy to us. He shows us unconditional love and always keeps us smiling. We are fortunate to have strong family ties, with both of us having close siblings. Family gatherings, whether it’s a holiday or just hanging out for a barbeque on a hot summer day, always include lots of laughter, fun and love.
We are eagerly anticipating an open adoption and establishing a relationship with you of your choosing. We feel that by remaining open and honest with each other, your child will grow up knowing they are surrounded by love and laughter. Our focus will always be centered on our child, doing what ever is needed for him or her to thrive and grow into a well rounded, supported, blessed adult while having all of us in his or her life.
We wish you continued courage as you walk though this journey and look forward to meeting you and building our lifelong relationship.
